Year One

This is the one year anniversary of our move to the Philippines. Our family has been through lots of life experiences in the last year. Looking back on our initial posts about our move, I realize now unsettling (literally) a move around the world can be.

This post is a milestone. I have a more informative blog post about our recent activities for the last few months, but the last week has been a real doozy.

  • We successfully made it through Typhoon Pedrig, which killed approx. 51 people, injured 100's and displaced 1,000's of people.

  • Our daughter Sophia contracted the dengue virus this week and is still hospitalized at this time. She is fighting a good fight and she has the "milder" virus, with a strong immune system. We are very grateful and have been praying and staying by her side day and night. She is a trooper, and has handled all the shots, IV's and blood tests like a champ.

  • And now Typhoon Quiel is hitting Luzon (the island we live on) today. The land is still very saturated and the rivers and dams are at capacity and are flooding shanties, towns and cities. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people affected by these typhoons.

We hope you are all safe and doing well. I will finish the updates of our last couple of months once  I have some free time.

In light & love,
