California Academy of Sciences

Here's some photos of our recent trip to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.

We had a great time, it was worth the wait. The halls and exhibits are stunning, the water exhibits are so incredible and very creature friendly, the living roof and 3-story rainforests (with butterflies) of the world amazing...

Our family favorites were:

  • Claude - the albino alligator
  • The Philippine Coral Reef
  • Amazon flooded forest - which you can "walk" through in a tube under the water and also observe from WAY above on observation deck from the rainforest canopy
  • The living roof top
  • Academy cafe - very kid friendly, tons of foods from around the globe to choose from...even with the struggle to carry 2 full trays of hot food & bev & steer stroller through crowd and check out - worth it to sit out side under heat lamps in an enclosed garden area.

We had a blast (missed the planetarium - next time). So cool to share the same/refurbished Academy of Science I used to visit in the 1970's with the little friends.

ps: couple posts below is video of our trip home over the Golden Gate Bridge - beautiful Bay Area!!!!
