What do you mean it's fractured?!?

After we got home from College Tour 2009, Heather unpacked her bag, washed her clothes and re-packed for a work trip to the Washington DC area the next day. It was a great work trip and she also got to take a field trip to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - WOW! It was so amazing to see all the different types of air and space craft and to see how far we've come. I can't believe how brave some of those first test pilots & astronauts were - pretty shaky engineering in the old days. The coolest thing there was the space shuttle Enterprise - the whole thing - in the museum. Sophia just studied space at pre-school so I took lots of photos of the satellites and space suits (I came home with a little 4" space shuttle toy and stuffed space monkey and she was like: "Mommy, where's my space suit and my space helmet!?!?!?! I NEED my space suit" Guess I know what we're going to be for Halloween...)

So rushing to jump on the airport shuttle, I dropped my suitcase on my foot but didn't think much of it - I also kicked the bed in the hotel while in San Diego, kicked the post in the garden while watering, dropped a can of soup on it...sense a trend? I thought my foot was jammed or sprained and kept trying to SHAKE it out. Finally went to our DR on a Friday and she said I should get x-rays and see a foot specialist, but he wasn't open on Friday - so Adam I decided to go wine tasting. We went to Cline for a picnic (beautiful grounds) and also made it over to Gloria Ferrer for sparkling wine (too expensive, but a nice view). I didn't care as much about the foot after that afternoon! Saw the Foot DR on Monday and he said:
- what did you do?
- I don't really know, why?
- You've fractured your middle metatarsal! I'm giving you a walking cast for 4 weeks
- What do you mean it's fractured? I've got 3 kids to chase, you've got to be kidding me...
